5-HTP 5-HTP

PURE 5-HTP is a high quality dietary supplement which contains 200 mg of 5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan) in a single capsule. In comparison to other manufacturers, the PURE brand used a specific dose of 5-HTP at a quite affordable price, which puts the product on a high position in the market of dietary and nutritional supplements for athletes.

5-HTP is a natural precursor to serotonin synthesis. It occurs both in nature (its big quantities can be found in the black bean, Griffonia simplicifolia) and in the human body system, where it is produced from one of the essential amino acids, tryptophan. This substance is widely used in various clinical cases, such as mood disorders, anxiety, sleeping problems, migraines headaches or joint inflammations. Moreover, as an agent reducing craving for carbohydrates, it is often used by people who want to shape their figure.

5-HTP ‒ what is its role in the human body system?
5-HTP is a natural exogenous amino acid, necessary for the proper functioning of the body system. Under the influence of the appropriate enzyme, 5-hydroxytryptophan decarboxylase, it is transformed into serotonin. It is indirectly involved in the synthesis of melatonin. Its proper concentration in the body system is responsible for the maintenance of positive mood, proper sleep quality and appetite control. It is necessary to provide it with food and to supplement it using easily available preparations in order to complement the deficiencies of the mentioned neurotransmitters: serotonin and melatonin.

Serotonin and its biological functions
Serotonin is one of the most important neurotransmitters in the human body system. It is produced from tryptophan, as a results of its hydroxylation to 5-hydroxytryptophan, and then its decarboxylation with the participation of vitamin B6. It is responsible for the proper signals transmission between brain cells. It stimulates the central nervous system thanks to the activation of its different areas. This substance has a wide spectrum of activities in the body system. Its correct level supports regeneration and improves the functioning of the entire body system, affecting the renewal of its energy resources.

Mood regulation and better well-being
Low level of serotonin in the brain causes mood disorders whose primary symptoms are low mood and increased aggression. This is caused by an improper stimulation of serotonergic neurons. Their insufficient agitation causes depressed mood and irritability. It may also result in prolonged depression and anxiety.

Maintaining the proper concentration of serotonin in blood is necessary to counteract the above mentioned behaviors and helpful in the treatment of major depressive disorder.

Sleep regulation
Insufficient amounts of serotonin and melatonin contribute to irregularities in the functioning of the biological clock. The reason for that is the fact that the brain areas responsible for invoking the feeling of sleepiness are not stimulated enough, which results in problems with falling asleep. The influence of serotonin on sleep consists also in regulating the transition between the different phases of sleep, in particular from the slow-wave sleep to REM phase and vice versa. Serotonin regulates the relationship between their lengths, so that it ensures the proper regeneration of the brain and the whole body system.

Influence on the appetite
The release of serotonin is stimulated by food, especially by products with high content of carbohydrates. During bad mood periods, the level of this hormone rapidly declines. This results in an increase in appetite and consumption of excessive amounts of food in order to increase the level of this hormone in blood. The results of that is weight gain. The appropriate level of serotonin prevents mood deterioration as well as regulates appetite, so that it facilitates the fight against overweight.

Use in migraines
As the pathomechanism underlying migraine headaches is affected by the disorders of the vascular-motoric system, serotonin can be used to treat this problem. In the early stages of migraine formation, the levels of serotonin are high, which causes the contraction of blood vessels. Then, it comes to a rapid decline in its concentration and the extension of the arterioles, and then the persistent pain appears. Quick renewal of serotonin resources allows for the contraction of blood vessels and thereby the reduction of the effects of their excessive extension.

To sum it all up, 5-hydroxytryptophan is a substance of very important neurobiological and systemic functions. First of all, it is a direct precursor to important neurohormones, serotonin and melatonin, whose deficiencies are nowadays quite common. Due to its good absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, it can be easily absorbed by the body system, and its great source in nature is a medicinal plant, Griffonia simplicifolia, popularly known as black beans.

The proper concentration of 5-HTP in the body system helps to maintain positive mood, improves sleep quality, makes it easier to fall asleep and has an inhibiting influence on the centre of hunger. By affecting the cerebrovascular tension, it is very useful in the treatment of migraines headaches.

Tryptophan

General information

Tryptophan is one of the nine essential amino acids that require high protein food consumption, mono-preparation supplements tryptophan, an amino acid type and EAA-day nutrients and protein, which is essential in the process of protein synthesis. A derivative of 5-HTP in the decarboxylation is a precursor of serotonin ((tissue hormone having an effect on blood pressure and peristalsis), and the subsequent processes of melatonin (the hormone sleep). It is used for synthesis of nicotinic acid (niacin, known as vitamin PP). The due to the appetite suppressant is also used in certain weight loss formulations.
Even a small deficiency is dangerous for the course of many physiological processes, can cause the nervous system deterioration of mood, insomnia, and disturbances in the digestive process. Tryptophan deficiency in the long term leads to depression and neurological disorders.
Mono-preparation supplements of tryptophan are recommended as a means of reducing the stress and reducing the feeling of insomnia. A part of the nutritional supplements type of EAA and all-day aminoacids, it is a valuable component of protein supplements. Available in store www.muscle-zone.pl
Doses recommended in supplementation: 500 - 2000 mg at bedtime, alternatively 500 - 1000 mg before meals.
