Common Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) is a plant known for its strong anti-inflammatory and astringent effect, which has the ability to seal and relax the blood vessels. The pharmacopoeial raw material is seeds that contain many pharmacologically active compounds, such as flavonoids, phenolic acids, tannins and saponins. The unique mixture of saponins – the so-called aescin, is of special significance.

Scientific research has proven that aescin gently delays blood clotting and reduces its viscosity, which translates into better peripheral circulation and lower risk of congestion or thrombosis. In addition, it promotes the inhibition of enzymes that degrade capillaries. As a result, the tightness and elasticity of blood vessels are improved, whereas their resistance to damage and the ability to expand increase.

Chestnut-based preparations can be used for both therapeutic and cosmetic purposes. They can be boldly recommended to people who lead a sedentary lifestyle or perform a standing job. They are helpful in case of varicose veins, swelling or other symptoms prodromal problems with blood circulation. They can be used after injuries (dislocations, sprains), which often cause swelling. Supplements in this category can also be used to improve the condition of the skin – they are ideally suited for the care of mature or flabby skin as well as that lacking firmness.

This category includes a wide selection of chestnut-based preparations. Our offer includes both encapsulated extracts for oral use as well as creams that are intended for external use.
