Palm oil obtained from oil palm Guinea (Elaeis guineensis) has a red colour due to the high content of beta-carotene, at room temperature it has a semi-solid consistency. It is the source of saturated fatty acids (myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid), unsaturated fatty acids: monosaturated oleic acid and multisaturated linoleic acid. In addition to beta-carotene contains sterols, glycolipids, coenzyme Q10, lycopene, tocotrienols and vitamin E is an antioxidant.
