Frankincense(Boswellia serrata) has a very important place in Ayurvedic tradition. In ancient times, the resin from the Boswellia serrata tree was a luxury commodity, valued on a par with gold. The most valuable element of the frankincense tree is its resin. It is extracted by incising the trunk, from which milky sap flows.
