It is believed that, for the best results of niacin use, it should be applied in the minimum dose of 1 g a day. However, the dose bigger than 250 mg a day is not recommended for beginners. You should start using the product from a dose of 250 mg a day and then gradually increase the dose, for example by 250 mg every 4 weeks.
Niacin, especially applied on an empty stomach, causes so called flash, whose symptoms are feeeling of warmth, slight burning and skin redness. These effects can be minimised by using smaller doses and combining the supplementation with vitamin C or taking the preparation with a meal.
