Sichuan Pepper is a plant extract from Zantoxylum nitidum (synonym: Tez-mui) growing in the Far East and used for centuries in Asian folk medicine to treat inflammation, reducing pain (including dental), diarrhea, colic and vomiting. Although not fully examined examined are their properties, but the bioactive components demonstrate their big possibilities, in fact contain flavonoids and isoflavones. Do they affect the condition of sports – this could not be scientifically confirmed. However, in some sports supplements the extract of Sichuan pepper they are used.
